It had a good staff there when I visited at night time

This bar is good for a drink if you're not in a hurry. The food used to be great years ago, now the focus is on cheap cocktails and private events. Service is spotty with a manager trying to carry the whole bar.

Cool modern bar that plays hiphop & afrobeat. Also owned by an African so I had to check it out. Parking is a challenge since it's in downtown silver spring.

The food was pretty good! I got the Moroccan lamb dish. The drinks were tasty as well. It's a nice restaurant. I enjoyed the music as well (Thursday nights). Good service.

Good food and great entertainment. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable environment. The owner is very down to earth and welcoming.

Atmosphere was chill. Didn't drink. Food was pretty decent. But please work on the shrimp... tasted way too fishy. Bathe them suckers in lemon before cooking.

The restaurant has a new theme night on Wednesdays!!!! It's salsa and bachata dancing!!! I had their jerk chicken legs and rice and beans. The legs of pollo were muy grande! They had great flavor and were not too spicy. There is a long bar and ample space for sitting when you need to rest from busting a move! The dance floor is ok for dancing, it's not wood but I was also not dancing in dance shoes. Fortunately I was comfortable being led into 2 spins, yay for that skill! Overall the location is great, parking is easy, they have awesome DJ Renzo and they had good food.

I go to this restaurant quite often! This is the best place to grab a bite. I visit this place many times. The cooking is just great, the staff members are professional and the prices are reasonable. I like eating in this spot to have a tasty supper.

Decent spot in downtown Silver Spring but very small. Had a different perspective as I was performing with a band. Was not ideal because of the size but more importantly where I had to setup was a hole in the ceiling dripping water! Beyond that the atmosphere seemed cool and the food looked good, but can't say how it was as I didn't have a chance to eat. Maybe I'll go back under our circumstances...

This is a very nice atmosphere. It carries an upscale clarentel .Carl Malcolm and Positive Vibration Reggae Band played to a packed house on Saturday 6 th April. The Image Band is the resident band and keeps the people rocking from Reggae to Soka on Saturdays. The Mix is a nice place to be. Good food, Great Atmosphere, Great Music .

(edited, date last month:) The food prep this time (2nd visit) was NOT together and the service was extremely slow - even from the door for table seating, early evening. Apparently, having new and short-staff that night was the reason for almost everything that panned out poorly.

The cocktails and the bartenders are great and friendly. Nice atmosphere and Latino/Caribbean music! I don't come all the time but whenever I'm here I usually like it a lot

The Ivorian food was ridiculously tasty and the chicken was so well done. The food evoked memories! I will definitely be frequenting this place again. I am excited to explore every item on this menu. Uncommon that they don't have a cocktail/drinks menu, but if you know what you want I am sure they can whip it up for you. I got a mean henny coke!

Drinks were good! The suya was so delicious and the right amount of spicy! The staff were very polite and friendly! I’ll be going back when next I’m in DC!

The total worse service imaginable. I planned my birthday brunch here last Sunday at 1pm and when I get there the place was still closed. There was only one person who seemed like the custodian and then they asked us to stand and wait outside. I ended up having my brunch at Society and thankfully there were able to accommodate my group of 15 last minute. I will never step into this place again 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

I went on a Friday it wasn't too crowded (maybe because it's winter) good music it was African and reggae music mostly. The drinks were good but over priced for shots that you don't get a lot of liquor.

Food is just ok. For what you get the price is a little high.

I had a great time with my friends on new years eve. They have great foods, service, and the place is of a good size. The crowd is mature, music is of variety just like the name "Mix". Restrooms were OK, and they had a person in there for service. Restrooms renovation will be great! Overall, had a great time and experience! I highly recommend!

New nite spot in downtown Silver Spring, the afro Caribbean cuisine is very tasty although the buffet ran out pretty quickly. MOST of the bartenders are pretty friendly. Good change of pace for Silver Spring.

No drink menu and no beers on draft. This is a bar right? I can’t comment on the food because I didn’t eat. Almost all the beers weren’t even cold enough for them to serve so my friend had to buy beer she didn’t like. This is not a bar it’s more like someone’s collection of half drank liquor in some guys man cave. Very random selection. There are a lot of bars around the area....I’d try a different bar if I were you.

The 3-stars only belongs to the food. I went there a while ago and the waiters took so long to deliver the food, the music was unnecessarily loud and I understand it was a bar but it wasn’t even clubbing hours. The bathroom I used had 1 ply toilet paper, very disturbing. Anyways, I ordered for a Moroccan lamb and also a Caesar chicken salad which was very delicious so kudos to the kitchen.

Was excellent. The atmosphere was quite professional; was truly a place of choice for friends and family to meet and have fun; I mean real fun; have a few drinks; enjoy the popular ethnic music for the right/familiar audience without stress or interference. I give it 3 stars because the service was not good. I dont know if the lady was overwhelmed or new but it took forever to get our orders. Then when got our food, she did give us utensils. I literally had my food in front of me for 5 minutes before I got my fork and knife but no napkins. Thank God the food was good.

This was actually my second time coming here, but the first time I did not eat since I came for a show. Last night I went and OMG! Everything was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. This is the kind of menu that is small but I feel like I have to go back just so that I can try other dishes. I was torn between this and the Suya, but we see what I ended up trying. The server was really nice and he actually made the recommendation. The drinks were good as well. Nice music. A lot of couples were up dancing and just an all-around great time and vibe.

I didn’t expect to but I actually really liked this place, went on a Sunday so it was quieter but the DJ was great, the bar tender was really friendly, everywhere was clean .... the food though can be a lot better. Still it was good vibes and if you need a quieter spot with a partner then this is the place .

Mixed drinks are small, weak, and expensive. One time I went and they were just out of a bunch of food, like maybe the manager forgot to keep the kitchen stocked. I've never tried to order food since that day. The decor is a confusing mix of upscale and club. Sometimes the djs are good, but more often they are not. Not a well-managed establishment, in my opinion.

Great place with a nice atmosphere. Spent NYE there, the DJ was awesome with afrobeats.
